Bernice (Marion) Perry, after a long illness, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at home with her family at her side. A lifelong resident of West Milford Twp., NJ, Bernice was one of nine children. Her family dates back to one of the original founding families, (1764), of St. Joseph's RC Church. The Marion family donated the property where the church and the old cemetery are located. When Bernice was a child, she and her brothers and sisters would walk to school. The school was located in Apshawa and was a two room school house, where she was a patrolman for the NJ State Police Safety Patrol. As a young woman, she worked at the American Hard Rubber Mill Co., in Butler, NJ, and also later at Aircraft Radio Co., Boonton, NJ, and at Fab's Fabric Store in West Milford, NJ. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Altar Rosary Society. The Chairperson for the 225th Anniversary of St. Joseph's RC Church. She taught CCD classes and was a Girl Scout Leader. A Charter Member of Bloomingdale VFW Post 9458 Auxiliary. She attended Sussex County Community College, and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society International Scholastic Order on Nov. 2, 1992. Her and her husband, William E. Perry, owned and operated Warwick Bakery of Warwick, NY, and Nees' Bakery of Butler and Riverdale, NJ and was also a member of the Butler and Riverdale Business Associations. Bernice is survived by her loving Husband Bill, of 63 years, her Daughters, Gail (Perry) Grinkevich of Wantage, Donna (Perry) Kajor and Husband Ronald Kajor of Oak Ridge, Son, William E. Perry Jr. of Kinnelon, five adored grandchildren; Kimberly (Kajor) Kozakiewicz and Husband Stephen Kozakiewicz of Howell, NJ, Kevin Kajor of Oak Ridge, Alexandra Grinkevich and Elizabeth Grinkevich of Wantage, and William E. Perry the 3rd of Kinnelon. One loving Sister, Martha (Marion) (Romain) Parker (91 yrs.) of Bloomingdale, NJ, and dear Sister-in-Law, Shirley Marion of Greentown, PA, and Brother-in-Law, LeRoy Whiteman of Fairfield, NJ, and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Viewing will be at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ on Tues. March 12, 5-8 PM and Wed. March 13, 9-10:30 AM. A funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 11am at St. Joseph's RC Church, West Milford, NJ. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her loving memory can be made to St. Joseph's RC Church, 454 Germantown Rd., West Milford, NJ 07480.
