Lauren Margaret (Lust) Proctor of Freehold, NJ passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, shortly after her 97th birthday.
Born an identical twin on December 28, 1925, she grew up in Butler, NJ, graduated from the New York College of Music and married in 1950. She had four children and moved with her family to Norwood, MA in 1963, and to Freehold, NJ in 1967.
She is survived by 4 children: Leo Proctor and fiancée Patti Townsend of Conifer, CO, Lauren Proctor and husband Juan Queralt of Dallas, TX, Paul Proctor and wife Kathy (Doyle) of Howell, NJ, John Proctor and wife Joan (Gregory) of Southport, NC, and their families, including 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by 15 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo Lust and Anna (Beberich), husband Paschal Proctor, sisters Leona Murray, Frances McFadyen, Anita Boyd, Gloria Grannis, Louise Walinsky, her identical twin sister Helen Ebers, and her brother John Lust.
She is remembered for 25 years of service as a School/Library Consultant for the World Book Educational Company, retiring in 2002. A lifetime member of Deborah Hospital, an officer of the Molly Pitcher Stamp Club, and a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, she was active in service to the community for most of her life.
Lauren embodied energy and enthusiasm, wisdom, and compassion. She had a unique gift of drawing people in and helping them with their concerns. She found joy in giving her time and talents to help others. She made people feel special.
Funeral mass will take place on June 10, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Butler, NJ and will be livestreamed on St. Anthony of Padua Church’s Facebook page. Following mass, the Proctors will have a private burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
