Mary Jane Schaeffer (ne McKeon), of Kinnelon, died Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Lincoln Park Renaissance. She was 86 years old. Mary Jane was born in Orange, New Jersey on December 8, 1933 to Gertrude (Moran) and James L. McKeon. Mary Jane attended St Stevens elementary school in North Arlington, NJ and Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, NJ. Mary Jane worked as an administrative assistant at Dow Chemical, and Mervin Katz, MD before taking a position with the Kinnelon School System. She was employed at Kiel School and Stonybrook School before a 24-year career at Pearl R. Miller Middle School where she spent her happiest years and made lifelong, wonderful friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, her brother, James, sisters Marge (McDonough), Joan (OBrien) and Gert. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Lewit and son-in-law, Robert Lewit, her son, Andrew, and his companion, Andrea Cucci, and two adored grandchildren, Jamie and Bobby Lewit, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020, 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Magnificat Roman Catholic Church in Kinnelon. Interment immediately following Mass at the Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, NJ.
