Robert C. Poehler

Robert C. Poehler, age 82, died in his home on Sunday, Feb 19,. Born in Passaic, he grew up in Caldwell, NJ and resided in Kinnelon for the past 55 years. He was a mechanical design engineer for Royal Master Grinders, Oakland NJ, before his retirement. An Air Force veteran, Robert served his country during the Korean conflict including a tour of duty in Korea. He enjoyed building and flying model gas-powered airplanes. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. As a member of the Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park, Robert went with a group on a missions trip to Russia. He was also a member of the Kinnelon Men's Prayer group for many years. Robert enjoyed his time as a productive and active member of the Chapel's senior Primetime group. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Pohler and sister, Fern Daniels. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carole ( nee Warner ) ; two sons: Jeffrey R. (Marlene) Poehler, of Clearwater Fl.; Mark C. Poehler of Phoenix, AZ.; also two daughters Robin Venable of Phoenix; and Laurie Scott of Larkspur, CO.Brother to Norman ( Helen ) Pohler, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Survivors also include two stepsons: Douglas P. Poehler of Statesville, NC and Peter J. Latrella of Asheville, NC. He is the grandfather of six grandsons: Scott, Kevin and Ryan of Clearwater; Brad of Phoenix; Kyle Venable of Phoenix and Brian of Larkspur. Step grandfather of Matthew and Michael Poehler of North Carolina. Great grandad of Brooke and Bryce Poehler of Phoenix. Also left behind were his nieces Penny ( Rick ) Hellar; Patti Pohler and Dawn ( Ken) Lindland and their families and a nephew Jim Daniels. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Morrison's Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ.Visitation for family and friends from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb 24th The service will be Saturday morning at the funeral home at 11 o'clock.Burial immediately following at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
