Sheila Bailey

In loving memory of Sheila, Sheila Bailey of Butler NJ passed away at Chilton Hospital at 2:26am on January 9, 2022, after losing a struggle with cancer. Born in Bloomingdale on December 11, 1941, Sheila immediately found herself surrounded by almost a dozen siblings, all of which were lovingly cared for by Bloomingdale Police Chief Peter and Erma Mosier. Over the years, most of the Mosier kids married and the list of nieces and nephews were found everywhere across "the hills of old Pequannock". If you grew up in the area, you no doubt crossed paths with one of the Mosiers. Up to the very end, Sheila loved spending time with her sisters - Jean, Marilyn, Shirley, Priscilla, Lorraine, and Linda. Like all of the children of Bloomingdale, Sheila ultimately found her way into Butler High School just next door. Arriving for reading, writing and arithmetic, Sheila's true prize was a boyfriend and eventual husband, Charles (Sonny) Bailey. As a young woman, Sheila's interests were wide joining softball and bowling leagues with her sisters and participating with the Butler Ladies Fire Auxiliary alongside Sonny's volunteer service with Kinney Hose Fire Company. Sheila and Sonny eventually decided to adopt two boys, Wayne and Rod, and showered them with all of the love and affection they could muster. Through their love and support, both boys evolved into caring, responsible men reflecting all of the same wonderful values you would expect out of idyllic Butler, NJ. Sheila was the rock of our family, and her love will forever be missed. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her life on Friday January 14 at the Morrisons Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler NJ. Viewing is from 4pm - 8pm, with a funeral service from Methodist Pastor Michael McKay at 7:30pm. If you are so moved, please send flowers in her name to Morrisons Funeral Home.
