Stanley J. Rogers, age 91, of Pompton Plains, formerly ofBloomingdale, NJ, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Mr Rogers was bornin Bloomingdale, NJ, the son of the late Victor and the late Ada(Decker) Hyland. He was a letter carrier for the United States PostOffice in Butler, NJ for many years. Mr. Rogers formed the Cedar CrestSingers and was a member of the Interfaith Chapel choir and the CedarCrest Chorale all at Cedar Crest. Stan was a WWII vet, having servedas a surgical technician in the army. He was a member of the VFW inPompton Plains, NJ. He is survived by two beloved children, StanleyJay Rogers, Janet Ryans and husband John, and daughter-in-law KathyRogers, cherished grandfather of Dan Barry, Tom Ryans, CarrieKovalerchik, Chelsea Ali, Lindsey Rogers, Kortney Rogers, and adoredgreat-grandfather of four. Stanley was pre-deceased by his loving son,James Rogers and his devoted wife, Betty. Also surviving are niecesand nephews.Viewing hours will be Sunday, January 20th , 2013, from 2-4pm, and7-9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. Afuneral service will be held Monday 10:00am at the Interfaith ChapelAt Cedar Crest Village, Pompton Plains, NJ. Burial will follow at Mt.Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
