William 'Bud' Moody

William "Bud" Moody, age 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. He was born on October 16, 1920 to the late Raymond and Henrietta Babcock Moody. Bud was a graduate of Butler High school; he was a sergeant in the US Air Force during World War II and retired from DuPont in Pompton Lakes after 38 years. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (De Puyt) and together raised four children. Bud is survived by his loving children Beverly Shefcik and husband Ken, Brian and wife Darlene, Lisa Roberts and husband Bill and daughter in law Susan. Cherished grandfather of Lori Jeane Moody and husband Andrew Fessenden, Jennifer Porter and husband Ron, Brian Jr., and Matthew Shefcik and wife Pam. Adored great grandfather of Miles Fessenden, and Charlie and George Shefcik. Also surviving is sister, Olive "Ollie" Hague. Bud was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty, son Richard, and his siblings Raymond Moody, Harold Moody, Marion Neuendorf, Ethel McCloud and John Moody. Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, December 9, 2019 10 am at St. Anthonys RC Church 65 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. Burial will immediately follow the mass at Valleau Cemetery Ridgewood, NJ.
