Aida M. Sewer, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 16, 1962, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Aida’s life was a testament to deep love, compassion, and steadfast family devotion.

Those who knew Aida were touched by her warmth, her unwavering support, and her remarkable ability to inspire resilience in those around her. Family was the cornerstone of Aida’s life. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Katherine Avelino, whose bond with her mother was a treasure of strength and affection. Aida leaves behind her mother, Atena Capellan, who described Aida as a ray of light from the day she was born. She will be deeply missed by her loving sister, Xiomara Sewer, and her devoted brother, Roberto Sewer, who were never far from her thoughts or her prayers. Her enduring legacy also continues through the lives of her adored grandchildren: Sebastian, Hailey, and Isabella—each one carrying forward her kindness, her hopes, and her dreams.

A visitation to honor Aida’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ 07405. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
