Betty L. Barrett, born on May 16, 1946, of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was a remarkable individual whose professional career spanned many years as the office manager and owner of John H. Barrett Plumbing, Inc. in Bloomingdale, NJ. Her commitment to her work and her community left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Charles) Leonardi, Karen (Michael) Joy and Connie (Stephen) Glaeser; her stepchildren, Phillip Barrett and Donna (Garry) Decker; her siblings, Marie “Pat” Van Orden and Helen Rupp; her beloved grandchildren Jonathon Joy, Michelle (Sean) Murray, Zackery (Ashley) Glaeser, Kristen Glaeser, and Charles “CJ” Leonardi, her step- grandchildren Garry (Marrisa) Decker, Jr., Jamie (Brad) Calcagno, Breanna Kowal, Kimberly (Justin) Leitz, and Racheal Barrett. She also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren who will all fondly remember her warmth and wisdom.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Phillip M. Barrett, and siblings Doris Brown, Chester Van Orden, Shirley Brown, Edward Van Orden, Arlene Beck, Gail Mathews, Gloria Broughman, Linda Witty, and stepdaughter Sharon Barrett. Each of them held a unique place in her heart, and their memories will echo through the stories shared by those left behind.
The visitation for Betty L. Barrett will be held on August 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will follow on August 19, 2025, 11:00 AM, also at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home. Interment will take place at North Hardyston Cemetery in Hamburg, NJ.
Betty L. Barrett will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for the love and devotion she exhibited towards her family. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the cherished memories she leaves behind.
