Charles Lester Cook

Charles L. Cook, formerly of Butler, passed in his sleep on July 24, 2026 following a period of ill health. He was born August 25, 1950 to Lester and Regina Cook, and was raised by his beloved grandparents Louis and Rachel Cook. He was predeceased by his much-missed wife, Kathy Nevard Cook, and their elder son David Cook. He is survived by their younger son Justin Cook, grandson Eric Cook, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Cook.

A 1969 graduate of Butler High, Charles spent his entire career working at Johanson Manufacturing in Boonton. He married Kathy in 1977 and they would eventually return to Butler to raise their two sons in his childhood home. After retiring in Pennsylvania, he indulged his lifelong love of fishing, obsessively followed the Yankees, and caught up on decades of classic TV.

He will be missed by family and friends, but they all take great comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his wife and son.
