Cynthia Marie Brill, beloved wife of Peter Brill for nearly 45 years, died unexpectedly on June 17, 2026.
Born on October 15, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts to Frank and Marie Barbara Parker, Cindy was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was the eldest of five children. Due to their father’s work, the family moved every few years and compiled a travel resume that included New Jersey, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and New York. As the oldest sister, she helped raise her younger siblings, a role she retained with pride throughout her life.
When her father acquired an Anheuser Busch distributorship encompassing the northern Bronx and southern Westchester counties, Cindy joined her father at the company in a clerical position They made a daily lengthy round trip between Smoke Rise, NJ and Yonkers, NY until the family relocated to Westchester.
In 1975, Cindy met the computer consultant, Peter, contracted to install the company’s first computer. Cindy had been designated the computer operator. She and Peter worked together to computerize the company and for several years thereafter to expand the computer’s application. Their relationship grew and they were married on October 17, 1981 in Waccabuc, NY. They honeymooned in Myrtle Beach before returning to Westchester County where they eventually purchased their first house. Meanwhile, Cindy progressed to office manager and continued to work with Peter for over a decade as newer and larger computer systems were installed to support the growing company.
They then moved to Warwick, NY, just two houses from Cindy’s youngest sister, Mary. Cindy began working for her brother John who had recently established a business in Poughkeepsie.
Cindy and Peter enjoyed vacationing in Maine, and eventually moved to southern Maine. Being avid animal lovers, they opened an independent pet supply store in Kennebunkport. Cindy was involved in the local community and on one occasion organized the Christmas celebration in Cape Porpoise. Once the store closed, Cindy and Peter moved to Connecticut, near where her sister Charlotte lived. Cindy became a licensed real estate agent. After five years, they returned to Maine where Cindy resumed her real estate career. Upon retirement, Cindy and Peter moved to New Jersey to be closer to family.
Over the decades, Cindy and Peter’s family included many little dogs, sometimes as many as three at one time The little ones brought Cindy and Peter immense joy. Cindy also greatly enjoyed the winter holiday season, starting with Halloween, and enthusiastically decorated her home.
Cindy was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend, who cared deeply about her family and friends. Her generosity was beyond compare.
In addition to her devoted husband Peter, she will be forever missed by her sister, Charlotte Wood, brother, John Parker, nieces Megan Rajbanshi and Caitlin Duffy, nephew, Ryan Parker, grand-nieces Lucia Wood, Sabine Rajbanshi and Thalia Duffy, and grand-nephew Sebastian Rajbanshi. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Barbara and Frank Parker, sister, Mary Beth Duffy, and brother Frank Parker.
A memorial service for Cindy will be held on July 11, 2026, 10:00am, at Our Lady of the Magnificat, 2 Miller Rd, Kinnelon, NJ.
