Denise A. Callahan

Denise A. Callahan, affectionately known as "Niece," passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on March 15, 1954, in Passaic, New Jersey, Denise lived a life filled with warmth, compassion, and a deep love for those around her.

From an early age, Denise was drawn to the natural beauty of the world, cherishing animals and the tranquil serenity of the beach. Her heart was as vast as the ocean she loved, and she dedicated herself to caring for others as a nurse—a calling she embraced with devotion and kindness throughout her life. Her gentle spirit and tender care left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Denise's family was the center of her world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Callahan Jr., and her parents, Dorothy Roskelly and Leroy Gravatt. She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her sister, Lynn Gustofson (Thomas); her children, Meghan Callahan, Kerri Lorencovitz (Mark), and Kelly Reger (Duane); and her many cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Dylan), Alexis, Jacob, Nicole, Mitchell, Chase, Zoey, Emily, Molly, and one great-granddaughter, Lainey Lynn. Her extended family includes nieces and nephews—Cheryl, Wayne, Erin, another Wayne, and Gracyn—each carrying forward Denise’s legacy of warmth and generosity.

Denise’s life was a mosaic of love, laughter, and quiet courage. Her love for the beach mirrored her soul’s depth, while her commitment to nursing reflected her boundless empathy. Those who knew her will forever treasure the memories of her gentle smile, her soothing presence, and the way she could brighten even the darkest days.

Though Denise has left this earthly plane, the love she sowed in the hearts of her family and friends remains a beacon of light and hope. As we say goodbye, we hold tightly to her spirit, celebrating a life well-lived and a heart that will forever beat in the stories shared and the lives she touched. Her journey may have ended, but her legacy endures, carried forward in every act of kindness and in the endless love of those who remember her.
