Doris MacDonald

Doris Steinbacher MacDonald, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025 at the age of 96. She was born in Esslingen, Germany on February 11, 1929, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep dedication to her friends and family. Doris will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, gardening, shopping, and strong sense of independence.

Doris emigrated to the U.S. in the 1950's, settling in and around the New York City area. Soon thereafter, she met her future husband, Bill. They were married on Valentine's Day, in 1959, and started their life-long journey together in Bloomingdale, NJ.

Doris enjoyed the company of her dear friends and spent many summer afternoons at the lake enjoying the sun and good conversation.

She is survived by her loving family, Don and his wife Kathy, her grandson, Christian and his wife Daniele and great granddaughter Genevieve, and her grandson Ryan and his fiancé Carly. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) and her sister Ruth Kretvix.
