Elizabeth Ann Fournier RN, BSN, MSN C (nee Grogan)
Born August 14th, 1939, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Beth graduated from Saint Aloysius High School in Jersey City in 1957 where she then attended Saint Francis Nursing School in Jersey City, graduating as a nurse in 1960 and continued to work there as a Head Nurse until she moved to Clifton, New Jersey where she began working in Pediatrics at Passaic General Hospital eventually becoming the Assistant Head Nurse of Pediatrics. Elizabeth returned to school to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from William Paterson University in 1985. Upon graduation, she joined Visiting Health Services in Totowa and worked as a Special Children's Health Nursing Supervisor. She again returned to school to earn her Master's Degree in Nursing from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. As well as earning her certification in public health.
After moving to Paterson, New Jersey with her sister Helene Fitzpatrick they eventually moved to Butler, New Jersey when she retired from VHS. In her free time, she was the Clifton AARP #1995 Secretary, a member of the Bulter XYZ Group, and the Saint Anthony’s Columbiettes #943. She was also a Lector in the Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Butler NJ.
Known best as Nana Beth her favorite occupation was caring for her Grandson Seán Fournier from Pequannock and the Povolo Quintuplets Victoria, Masha, Ashley, Michael, and Marcus of Totowa, NJ. Her love of music was constantly on display when she and Helene traveled the tri-state area to follow Seán as he performed with the Pequannock Township High School Golden Panthers Marching Band and the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps. One of her greatest memories was attending the US Bands Championships in Allentown Pennsylvania where the PTHS Marching Band became the 2022 US Bands Group IV-A Champions.
Beth is preceded by her brother John Francis Grogan and her husband George V. Fournier Sr. She is survived by her sister Helene Grogan Fitzpatrick of Butler, her son George V. Fournier Jr, his wife Beth Fournier, and their son Seán E. Fournier. Her niece Mary McArtor, her husband Mike, and their son Daniel. Her nephew Dan Bradley, his wife Kay (deceased) and his sons Nick (deceased), Sam and family, and George Bradley, his wife Fran, and their children Julie, Christopher, Patty, and their families.
Viewing hours will be held Thursday, October 26th 2023, from 4pm to 8pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J. A funeral Mass will be offered Friday, 11am at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Butler, NJ. The final disposition will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Nana Beth has asked that donations be made in her name to the Pequannock Township High School Golden Panthers Marching Band via Venmo @PTHSband or the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps via Venmo @Cabs1946
