O'FRIEL - Father LaSalle, O.F.M., of St. Anthony Friary. Butler, NJ, on November 6, 2006, in his 78th year. Father LaSalle was a professed Franciscan Friar for 57 years, and a Catholic Priest for 52 years. Father LaSalle entered the Franciscan Order In 1949, and was ordained to the CatholicPriesthood in 1954. He was an assistant at St. Francis Church, Manhattan, NY, 1955-1964. He served as Guardian and Pastor at St. Patrick's Church, Buffalo,NY, 1964-1970. His longest ministry in New Jersey was Retreat Master for parishesand Spiritual Director for groups of Religious Sisters from 1970 to the present.He is survived by his Franciscan confreres, and brother Paul G. O'Friel of Newton Center, MA, brother Mark J. O'Friel of Larchmont, NY, and a sister, Sister SheilaO'Friel, D.C., of Bayside, NY. Father La Salle was predeceased by two brothers, FatherDemetrius O'Friel, O.F.M., and Father Zachary O'Friel, O.F.M. Mass of ChristianBurial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2006, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Butler, NJ. Visiting, 4:30-7:30 PM, on Thursday, November 9, 2006, also at St. Anthony's R.C. Church. Wake service will be at7:30 PM, Thursday.
