Gail K. Petrask

Gail K. Petrask, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Newton, NJ, at the age of 79. Born on April 4, 1946, in Passaic, NJ, Gail was the epitome of warmth and generosity, often putting her family first in everything she did.

A woman of simplicity and grace, Gail was down to earth and had an innate ability to bring laughter and joy to those around her. She had a love for shopping, always on the lookout for a good sale, which became a special pastime she shared with her loved ones. Her zest for life was evident in her many interests; she cherished reading and found serenity in collecting stamps that painted the stories of distant lands.

Gail’s adventurous spirit was further exemplified in her fond memories spent in her camper. She loved visiting various places, including the magical realms of Disney, the picturesque landscapes of Lake George, and countless cross-country explorations, each trip filled with laughter and unforgettable moments shared with family.

Gail's life was intertwined with the love of her family, including her dear husband, George Edward Petrask, with whom she shared an incredible 58 years of marriage. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Christine Stalter (William S. III), George Michael Petrask (Rebbeca), and Kevin Petrask, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Jackson and Van, who carried the spark of her kindness and enthusiasm.

She is also survived by her niece, Lara Allman (Michael), who held a special place in her heart. Gail was preceded in death by her dear sister, Carol Grcic, who remains lovingly remembered.

Gail's presence will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. To honor her life and the memories shared, a Celebration of Life will be held on January 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:30 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc. located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ.
