In Loving Memory of Geraldine “Geri” Sicurella
August 8, 1936 – December 26, 2025
Geraldine Sicurella, affectionately known as Geri, Zsa-Zsa, or Nonna to those who loved her, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 8, 1936, she was the beloved daughter of the late Viola Marino and Adolf Laqrignola.
Geri was a woman who truly loved life. She was loving, easygoing, caring, and deeply compassionate—a beautiful soul full of love and laughter. Her positive outlook was unwavering; she always believed that everything was going to be okay. Her sense of humor and infectious laugh brought joy to everyone around her.
For 30 years, Geri worked as a nurse in a nursing home, dedicating her life to caring for others. She and Thomas shared a beautiful life together, raising their son Joseph and living in Parsippany, Rockaway, and Paterson before Thomas’s passing in 1986. After his passing, Geri moved to Butler in 1996, where she became active in the Women’s Club and Garden Club. She loved nature, birds, and plants, and tended a garden filled with fresh herbs and vegetables. She was sassy and stylish, enjoying life’s finer things—especially getting her hair and nails done.
Geri had a passion for travel and cruising, and later in life, she was blessed with a second chance at love with Ed Lynch. For nearly 20 years, they shared countless adventures, dinners, and quiet evenings together until Ed’s passing in July 2025. Geri loved cooking for Ed and was an exceptional baker, known for her banana nut muffins, applesauce cake, apple pie, and lemon meringue pie.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Geri helped raise her grandchildren and nieces, creating cherished memories filled with warmth and laughter. She is survived by her loving son Joseph, her daughter-in-law Kasia Wozniak—whom she treated like her own daughter—and her cherished grandchildren Natalia and Dominic. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who hold fond memories of her love and easy-going spirit.
Geri was predeceased by her husband Thomas Sicurella of Lyndhurst, her sisters Paula Palisi and Linda VanSickell, and her dear partner Ed Lynch.
Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. Geri embraced life fully and shared her light with everyone she met. Her family and friends will forever treasure the joy she brought into their lives.
A celebration of Geri’s life will be held at a later date. In her honor, the family invites you to plant something green, bake something sweet, or share a laugh with someone you love—just as Geri would have wanted.
