Gregory John Morano, age 73, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away at home with loved ones by his side on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was born in Paterson, NJ, on December 24, 1949, son of the late John and Josephine (Gesicki) Morano.
Mr. Morano graduated from DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey, and Newark College of Engineering in Newark, NJ, receiving his MBA degree at the University of New Haven, CT. He enjoyed a long career at ITT Avionics beginning in 1983 and retired as Director of Space Operations in 2007. On June 9, 1973, Mr. Morano married the love of his life, Maureen (Mulligan) Morano at St. Anthony's Church in Butler, NJ, and the two would spend the next 50 years together, creating many wonderful memories.
Faith was a pillar in his life, and he was an active member of his church and communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Seaford, DE. Mr. Morano had many hobbies, especially playing golf with his friends and traveling to national parks as often as he could. Above all, he treasured time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren who were the apples of his eyes. Mr. Morano was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His time with us will live on forever in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.
Mr. Morano is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen (Mulligan) Morano of Bridgeville, DE; his children: Mark Gregory Morano (Heather Kolesa) of Yardley, PA, Paul Michael Morano (Bethany Pacheco) of Flemington, NJ, and Amy Beth Morano (Brian Grego) of Freehold, NJ; and his grandchildren: Jared Morano, Mia Morano, Kylie Morano, Taylor Pacheco, Garrett Pacheco, Nathan Pacheco, and Brent Pacheco, all of Flemington, NJ.
Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, July 20, 2023, 11:00am at St. Anthony's of Padua RC Church, 65 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ.
