James Rupeikis

James Rupeikis, a beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on January 30, 1961, in Dover, New Jersey, Jim dedicated his life to his work, his many friendships, and, above all, the people he loved.

Jim attended school for computer programming and went on to build a successful career in information technology with Crum & Forster and UPS. Throughout his career, he advanced from Programmer to positions involving data center hardware installations, disaster recovery planning, and facility management.

Jim had an exceptional talent for trivia and could give just about anyone a run for their money on Jeopardy!. He was an avid reader with a particular love of mysteries.

Jim's greatest passion was fishing. He traveled to Mexico in pursuit of marlin, ventured to Canada for pike, and enjoyed surf fishing along the Jersey Shore. His love of the outdoors extended to gardening, where he grew wildflowers and vegetables at his lakeside home. He even built his own floating dock, perfectly suited to his love of fishing at any hour. On warm summer days, he treasured quiet afternoons relaxing in his hammock and enjoying the beauty around him.

Jim had a vibrant personality and a wonderful sense of humor. He made lifelong friends throughout his career and enjoyed being part of a bowling league, where he valued the friendship and camaraderie as much as the competition. He loved good-natured rib and chili contests and, most of all, the laughter and memories shared with family and friends.

Above all else, Jim's greatest joy was the love he shared with his wife, Lauren. Together, they built an extraordinary 35-year life filled with love, laughter, travel, adventure, and countless cherished memories. Their bond was at the heart of Jim's life, and the love they shared will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lauren Rupeikis; his brother, Michael Rupeikis; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Patingo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Rupeikis and Stella Rupeikis. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love of life, generous spirit, sense of humor, and devotion to those he loved will forever remain in the hearts of those he left behind, and an inspiration to us all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, located at 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ 07405 with a short funeral service at 3:30 PM. A repast will follow.
