Janice Arahill

Janice Arahill, affectionately known as “Jan,” passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on October 1, 1947, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Jan dedicated her life to the noble profession of teaching, spending 35 years as a special needs teacher in Bloomfield, NJ. Her commitment to her students was unwavering, and she was a cherished figure in the lives of many young people and their families.

Jan graduated with a Master's degree, a testament to her dedication to education and her lifelong love of learning. For the last six years she resided at, Mira Vie, West Milford, NJ., during this time, Jan made numerous friendships, actively engaged in various programs, and became an advocate for her fellow residents, showcasing her passion for community involvement.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jan was a devoted aunt who cherished the moments spent with her nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her nephews, Edward Driscoll and his wife Lori, Frederick Driscoll and his wife Gladys, Daniel Driscoll, Michael Driscoll and his wife Allison, and Paul Rosenberger as well as her niece, Elaine Applebaum and her husband Mitch. Jan also leaves behind many great grandnieces and grandnephews whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.

Jan joins her beloved family members who have preceded her in death, including her sisters Elsie Driscoll and Meta Cunningham, and her brothers Frederick and Edward Rosenberger, her niece, Debbie Szulc and her nephew’s Timothy Driscoll, Jerome Driscoll Jr. and Eugene O’Neil.

Jan’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she influenced, both in her role as a teacher and as a loving family member. Her spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Memorial Visitation from 10:00am-11:00am, with a Funeral Service at 11:00am, will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
