Jeffrey John Sokolowski

Jeffrey John Sokolowski, 68, of North Haledon, NJ, passed away April 2, 2024, at Chilton Medical Center following a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jeffrey was born to John and Eleanor Sokolowski on March 19, 1956, in Pompton Plains NJ. Jeffrey graduated from Butler High School in 1974 and soon after he married his lifelong love Candice (Simpson) in 1976. Jeffrey and Candice settled in Bloomingdale, NJ, where they would begin their family together and raise their two children into adulthood. Jeffrey and Candice then moved into their dream home they had built in North Haledon in 2004. Jeffrey was a hardworking and dedicated employee for PSEG for over 30 years prior to his retirement.

Jeffrey was a die-hard New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, and loved spending all the time he could at the family’s vacation home on Long Beach Island. He also thoroughly enjoyed traveling, with his favorite destinations being Las Vegas, NV, Tampa, FL for NY Yankees Spring Training, and trips with his wife Candice to Atlantic City to try his luck on his favorite slot machines.

Jeffrey is pre-deceased by his parents, John, and Eleanor, as well as his aunt, Anna Sokolowski. He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years, Candice, his daughter Nicole and her husband Keith, his son Jeffrey, and his wife Michele, as well as his three beloved grandchildren, Savannah, Joseph, and Juliana.

Visiting hours will be Monday, April 8th, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home Inc., 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J..  A graveside service will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery,  Butler, NJ.
