Joanne “Jo” Jablonski, a woman whose life was marked by strength, love, and devotion, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 28, 1947, in Paterson, New Jersey, Jo’s journey through life was one filled with purpose, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear.

Jo devoted many years of her life as a postal clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Wayne, NJ, where her diligence and dedication made a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Her career was marked by a steadfast work ethic that mirrored her strong-willed and caring personality. After many years of service, she retired, but the legacy of her kindness and generosity remained firmly rooted in the hearts of those who knew her.

Family was the cornerstone of Joanne’s life. Her heart beat strongest for her husband, Alexander, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage, a testament to enduring love and partnership. She was a cherished mother to her daughters Lisa Davis (Scott) and Lynn Carpentier. Though her son Brian Jablonski predeceased her, her enduring love continued vibrantly through her seven grandchildren: Tristan, Holly, Kaylee, Autumn, Brianna, Taylor, and Nicholas, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

Joanne was known among friends and family alike for her generous nature and strong spirit—a woman who cared deeply and gave freely. Moments spent with her were often filled with laughter and warmth, especially during a good game of bingo at St. Francis of Assisi in Wanaque, NJ, where she enjoyed wonderful times with family. Vacations taken together were more than just trips; they were treasured experiences that fortified the bonds of love and friendship that she so highly valued.

Her siblings, who shared in the journey of life with her, survive her: sisters Darlene Ritchie (Charles), Jackie Wanamaker, Rosemary Carlson (Robert), and brothers Lester Shaw (Tina), John Shaw (Virginia). Alongside them are many nieces and nephews who remember Jo’s kindness and guiding presence with fondness.

The family invites all who knew Joanne to join in remembering her life. A visitation will be held on May 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ . The funeral service follows on May 19, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location, with burial to follow at Our Lady Of The Magnificat Cemetery in Kinnelon, NJ.

Joanne’s legacy is one of love and steadfast devotion—a life lived with purpose and heart. She will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of her family and all those touched by her radiant spirit. Her story is a gentle reminder of the profound impact one person’s love can have on many lives, echoing through generations.
