John M. Kimack, a beloved figure and dedicated family man, departed this world on November 20, 2024, at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ. Born on August 20, 1939, in Passaic, NJ, John's life journey was defined by his unwavering commitment to his family and community.
John's career spanned many years at SCT. Inc in Franklin Lakes, NJ, where he was not only known for his work ethic but also for his kind spirit. A proud Eagle Scout Leader and long-time member of the Boy Scouts, he led Troop #4 in Butler, which showcased his leadership, dedication, and passion for shaping young lives. His recognition of achieving the Bear Badge, the highest honor for scout leaders, was a testament to his commitment and love for the scouting community.
A graduate of Garfield High School, John was a man of strength and warmth. He was always ready to lend a hand to those in need, embodying a personality that was both personal and strong. Those who knew him best will remember him for his caring nature—especially the love and attention he devoted to his cherished home and his two sons.
In his passing, John leaves behind his loving children—David Kimack, Sandra Kimack, and Michael Kimack—each of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. He also found great joy in being an uncle to his nephew, Michael Kimack Jr., and had a special bond with his godchild, Laura Herzo. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janice (Popernick), whose memory he held close to his heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on November 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held the following day, November 23, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM, with a burial to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ, Throughout these services, we will celebrate the life of John M. Kimack—a devoted father, a steadfast friend, and a kindhearted individual who will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those he loved.
