Kevin Michael Gillen, (54) of West Milford passed away peacefully on August 27th with his immediate family by his side at Chilton Memorial Hospital. Kevin was born on November 12, 1965 in Pequannock Township to parents Patrick and Joan Gillen. He was a lifelong resident of West Milford and a graduate of West Milford High School. Kevin was employed with Marotta Scientific, Carpenters Union and Verizon. He had such great talents that came so naturally and no challenge to great for him to handle. Kevin was a member of Apshawa Fire House with multiple family members. Kevin enjoyed watching NASCAR and we all knew his favorite driver was #3 Dale Earnhardt. He also took interest in watching Fox News and keeping up with the current run for President. Kevin enjoyed hunting with family except he was allergic to deer but enjoy the harvest. Kevin lived life to the fullest making friends no matter where he may have traveled. He was so giving to everyone he met and always worried about others than himself. He did like to be a jokester and make people laugh and smile. His memories will live on through his family and friends so that we never forget him and his heart of gold. Kevin is survived by his Father, Patrick J. Gillen of Newfoundland PA, brothers, Patrick Gillen, Thomas Gillen and wife Kari, Michael Gillen and wife Dawn and one sister Ann Marie Cooney and husband John. He has three nieces Kristen Gillen, Hailey Gillen and Meghan Gillen and one nephew Jameson Gillen. Kevin was predeceased by his Mother, Joan K. Gillen, Grandparents, Wasko and Theresa Korkiner, Peter and Marion Gillen, Uncles James Gillen, Walter Korkiner and Ralph Green. Viewing hours will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2020 from 4 pm-8 pm at the Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday 11 am at St Josephs RC Church in West Milford, NJ. Burial will follow in Josephs Church Cemetery.
