Laurie Murphy-Liloia, a cherished soul whose great heart and boundless generosity touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2026. Born on April 20, 1962, in Boonton Twp., New Jersey, Laurie lived a life rich with love, passion, and commitment, leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have crossed her path.
Laurie’s journey was marked by a vibrant spirit and an artistic soul. A proud graduate of Butler High School, she further pursued her education at Morris County Community College and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She embraced her creativity wholeheartedly, finding joy and expression in crafting and designing costume jewelry that reflected her unique vision and delicate artistry. Laurie's artistic talents were but one facet of her deeply caring and spirited personality.
As an Outside Sales Account Manager for Alkhan Labels in New York City, Laurie navigated her career with the same zeal and dedication that defined every aspect of her life. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was known for her outspoken nature and her passionate fight for what she believed in. Her warmth and generosity extended not only to people but also to animals and children, whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends was the cornerstone of Laurie’s existence, and she treasured every moment shared with those closest to her. She was lovingly married to Nicholas Liloia, her husband of 33 years, with whom she shared a profound bond of love and partnership. Laurie’s family circle also includes her brothers Ken Murphy and George Aupperlee, along with her nieces and nephews: Tina, Shannon, Christopher, Adam, Connor, Genevieve, Paige, Ryan and Kyle. Though her parents, Genevieve and Ernest Murphy, along with brothers Steven and Gary Murphy and nephew Michael Murphy, have passed on, their memory lives on through Laurie’s enduring spirit and the love she carried proudly in her heart.
Laurie’s social nature illuminated every room she entered. She reveled in the company of family and friends, relishing the connections and community they fostered. Her caring nature and infectious warmth created a space where many felt valued and loved, a testament to the remarkable person she was.
Visitation and funeral services to honor Laurie’s life will be held on May 3, 2026, at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave in Butler, New Jersey. The visitation will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM also at the funeral home..
Though Laurie’s physical presence is gone, her spirit—filled with love, courage, creativity, and an unyielding commitment to family and friends—will live on eternally in the hearts of those who loved her. She leaves behind a world made brighter by her kindness and a legacy of compassion and artistic beauty that will endure in every life she touched.
May Laurie Murphy-Liloia rest in everlasting peace, forever remembered for the remarkable life she so gracefully lived.
