Lorna S Meier

Lorna S. Meier, 82 of Shiloh, GA died Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Warm Springs Nursing Home in Warm Springs, GA.

Mrs. Meier was born December 13, 1942, in Edison, GA the daughter of Vaughn Woodson “Woody” Snipes and Virginia Ella Dawson Snipes. She was a former teacher, owned and operated Collections Consignment Shop in Manchester, GA. Mrs. Meier was also very active and ran the Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and also the Butler New Jersey Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary before moving back to Georgia. She was a Treasurer during the remodeling and reopening of the President Theatre in Manchester and the Georgia Baptist Home in Manchester, GA. Lorna and her husband Jack were very active and loyal members of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Manchester, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Richard Paul Meier and Charles John “Chuck” Meier and sister Claudine Slay. She is survived by her husband John C. “Jack” Meier of Shiloh, GA and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Meier will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Manchester, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home, Manchester, GA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 10:00am-11:00am at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A Funeral Service will be offered at 11:00 am also at the funeral home with Private Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
