Michael Ernest John Murphy, affectionately known to some as "Murph," passed away suddenly on November 21, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on April 6, 1984, in Boonton, NJ, Michael's vibrant spirit touched the lives of many and leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and laughter.

Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force from 2007 to 2011 during the War in Afghanistan and serving in the Airforce Reserves exemplifying courage and commitment to his country. After his military service, he channeled his dedication into a fulfilling career as an Engineering Technician at Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, NJ. Michael was known not only for his technical skills but also for his warm demeanor and infectious personality. His colleagues remember him as a hard worker who always went the extra mile and the "nicest guy you would ever want to meet."

Education was a significant part of Michael's journey, as he attended Jefferson High School before moving on to the Lincoln Technical Institute in Mahwah, NJ. Those who knew him well appreciated his mischievous side, often revealing a playful prankster who loved to impersonate his father over the phone. His sense of humor brought joy to those around him, brightening even the darkest of days.

Family was at the heart of Michael's existence. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tasha (nee Marshall), with whom he shared seventeen loving years. They built a beautiful life together marked by cherished memories and laughter. Their daughter, Emma, was the light of his life, and he found immeasurable joy in playing games and creating lasting childhood memories with her. Michael was a big kid at heart, always the first to play with children. His family often gathered around campfires, sharing stories and laughter, which remain a testament to the warmth he exuded. Michael was pre deceased by his beloved father, Steven.

Michael's love extended beyond his immediate family. He is deeply missed by his mother, Linda Murphy, and his sister, Tina Coviello (James), who both remember him as a source of unwavering support and joy. He was a cherished uncle to his niece, Amber Marshall and nephews, Derek Marshall and Dominic Coviello. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Douglas Marshall, and mother-in-law, Teresa Marshall, as well as brother-in-law Dexter Marshall (Kimberly). His memory will forever be held close by all whose lives he touched.

One of Michael's proudest accomplishments was his long-standing commitment to serving his community through the Jefferson Township Fire Department, Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company, and Woodland Volunteer Fire Department. He carried this dedication with pride and was a respected figure among his fellow firefighters.
