Nancy J Bird

Nancy Jean Bird, age 69, passed away tragically on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. She is the daughter of the late George Brooks, Edna Struble, and step-father Raymond Struble.

Growing up Nancy resided in Butler and attended Butler High School, graduating in 1972. In 1971, Nancy met the love of her life, Bill, and they married on September 30, 1972. Soon after, she pursued a career as a dental assistant. In her free time Nancy loved crafting, reading, watching movies, spending time with loved ones, traveling, and adventure. Nancy was a nurturing, kind, positive, and strong woman. She was an active member of the community, always doing what she could to help others. She was a member of the Riverdale Women's Club, and she volunteered with the Girl Scouts and the Butler High School Marching Band. Nancy never missed an opportunity to cheer her grandchildren on at their school, music, and sporting events. Her faith and devotion to St. Anthony’s Church was immeasurable, earning her the St. Francis Medal.

She is deeply missed by her beloved children, Adam and his wife, Denise; Jennifer and her husband, Dominic; her cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Jack, Mackenzie, and Sarah; her siblings, Judith Swedin, Stephen Brooks, Marianne McKernan, and Barbara Sedita; as well as many nieces and nephews. Nancy was pre-deceased by her devoted husband, Bill, and her brother, Peter Struble. Viewing hours will be Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4 to 8 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A Mass will be offered Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, NJ.
