McDONALD - Father Gerard R., O.F.M, of St. AnthonyFriary, Butler, NJ, on February 11, 2007, in his 90thyear. Father Gerard was a professed Franciscan Friarfor 66 years, and a Catholic Priest for 61 years.Father Gerard entered the Franciscan Order in 1939,and was ordained to the Catholic Priesthood in 1945.His longest ministry was assistant at St. FrancisChurch, Manhattan, NY, 1953-1955, and 1962-1995.Father Gerard was a founding faculty member of BishopTimon High School, Buffalo, NY, 1946-1951. He servedas an assistant director of Friar Students at St.Stephen's Friary, Croghan, NY, 1951-1953. He also wasa religious superior and Pastor at St. AugustineChurch and Friary, Thomasville, GA, 1955-1961. Heserved as a hospital chaplain in St. Petersburg, FL,1961-1962. He retired to St. Anthony Friary, Butler,NJ, in 1995. He is survived by his Franciscanconfreres, and a nephew, John F. McDonald, of ElkinsPark, PA, and a niece, Mary Ellen Keenan, ofJenkintown, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will becelebrated on Thursday, February 15,2007, at 11:00 AMat St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Butler, NJ.Visiting, 4:00-9:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, also at St. Anthony's R.C. Church.Wake service will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday.
