A graduate of Butler High School, he continued his education by earning his bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall and then went on to receive a master’s degree from Penn State. He also leaves behind his stepdaughters, Felicia Beach, Glenn, and Melissa Ramadan. Richard’s family was further enriched by his grandchildren, Daniel Meehan, Katie Shortway, and Jake Grecco, as well as his great-grandchildren, Ryan Shortway and Avery Shortway, whose lives carry forward his memory in a special way. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert McCracken, Tim McCracken, and Jack McCracken.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward McCracken; his mother, Mary Harris; and his daughter, Megan Waltzer. Their memories remained part of his life and story, and he now rests with those who went before him.
