Roberta "Bert" Vaccaro, a beloved member of her community and cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025. She was born on December 7, 1947. Roberta's life was one steeped in love, dedication, and service, reflected in both her career and the countless connections she made throughout her journey.
For over 30 years, Roberta served as a devoted Secretary for the Paterson Board of Education, where her commitment to education and support of students and faculty made a lasting impact. Her professional life was notable not only for its longevity but also for the warmth and kindness she extended to those around her.
Education was vital to Roberta, who graduated from Mary Help of Christian Academy in North Haledon. This foundation guided her ability to nurture relationships, both personal and professional, as she navigated life with grace and compassion.
Outside of her career, Roberta was a vibrant community member dedicated to her faith. She actively participated in St. Gerard's Church in Paterson, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, sharing her spirit and devotion with fellow parishioners. Her participation in the church underscored her deep commitment to her faith and to serving others in her community.
Roberta's passion for life was evident in the multitude of things she loved. She delighted in antique shopping and cherished meals with family and friends around the dining table. These were more than just activities for her; they were opportunities to create enduring memories with those she loved.
As a mother, grandmother, and sister, Roberta's proudest accomplishments lay in her roles within her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kimberly, and son-in-law, Michael, along with her cherished grandchildren, David and Katie, who adored their grandma and will remember her with great love. Additionally, Roberta leaves behind her sister, Ellen Wickham, and numerous nieces and nephews who have been touched by her warmth.
Though Roberta has departed from this world, her spirit will radiate through the lives she touched, reminding us of the power of love, kindness, and community. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph and her beloved parents, Edward and Genevieve Quinn.
Visitation for Roberta will be held on May 29, 2025, at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc. in Butler, NJ, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service the next day at 10:00 AM. Roberta will then be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ, .
Roberta "Bert" Vaccaro will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for the innumerable moments of joy and kindness she shared in her lifetime. May her soul find eternal peace amidst the loving embrace of those who have gone before her.
