Roman Aksentije Graure, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Roman was born in 1943 in Ritiševo, Serbia, to Aksentije and Ekatarina (Svitac) Graure. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Amalia Reu. He is survived by his three children, Marin, Roman Jr., and Vennesa, as well as his three grandchildren. After serving in the Yugoslavian Army, Roman emigrated from Vršac, Serbia, to Paterson, New Jersey in 1969 with his family, seeking what he described as “the opportunity for a better life.” Roman raised his family in Bloomingdale, New Jersey, later residing in Kinnelon, and in Mount Arlington during his retirement years. Over the course of his career, Roman founded and operated several businesses, including Music House International, Kompas Travel, and Niram, Inc. After retiring, he spent time traveling internationally.
A private burial will take place at the Serbian Orthodox Cemetery in Hope, New Jersey, on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
