Sheryl Lee (Tuohey) Aluzzo, 67, of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 17, 1958, Sheryl lived a life of compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others. Sheryl was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years, caring for countless patients with kindness and dignity. Her gentle spirit brought comfort to everyone she met. She carried that same demeanor in her everyday life; an angel on earth is now in Heaven.
On September 19, 2022, Sheryl suffered a devastating stroke that could have taken her life. Through her remarkable resilience, strength, and God's mercy, she fought and overcame the odds stacked against her. She not only survived, but thrived in a new way of life, and we were blessed to receive just over 3 more years with her.
Sheryl was deeply devoted to her faith, her family, and her community. Throughout the years, she volunteered for various tasks through her kids' sporting events, Women's Auxiliary for Bloomingdale Fire Department, and dedicated much of her time to church. From teaching Vacation Bible School to helping families through programs such as "The Clothes Closet", food pantries, and the Mothers of Preschoolers program at The Chapel in Lincoln Park. She had a special gift for encouraging others and making people feel welcomed, supported, and loved; always putting others before herself.
Above all else, Sheryl was the heart of her family - a loving daughter, devoted wife, cherished mother/mother-in-law, proud new grandmother, and dear aunt. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Aluzzo and her three children: Stephanie Aluzzo-Tweer, Joshua Aluzzo and Thomas Aluzzo; her granddaughter, and her sister, Margaret (Tuohey) Hasselbring. Her family and friends will forever remember her gracious heart and selfless nature. Those who only know her through her story will remember her for being a warrior.
Sheryl’s warmth, faith, strength, and compassion touched the lives of many, and her memory will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
