Vincent James DeSanctis

It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent "Vince" DeSanctis announces his passing on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, at the age of 91.

Vince will be lovingly remembered by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife, Patricia "Patsy" DeSanctis, whom he married at Villanova Church in 1956, and their children, James, Susan, Christopher, and Andrew. He will also be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Nicholas, Jay, Douglas, Paige, Kanna, and Youna, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Trey and Charlie.

Vince was born on July 20th, 1935, in Wayne, Pennsylvania, to Anne and Vincent DeSanctis.

After marrying Patsy, Vince decided to enlist in the Army to get ahead of the draft. As luck would have it, he was ordered stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, at Schofield Barrack, he did not get his first choice, Vietnam. His time in Hawaii left a lasting impression. Starting in 2000, Hawaii became a special place that he and Patsy would return to every year for a 17-year period, along with friends and family. Over the years, their grandchildren would come visit them in Maui, building fun and lasting memories.

After starting his career as a Lineman for Philadelphia Electric, Vince founded D&D Electrical Sales in 1975, a business he proudly built and led until his retirement in 2009. Any tool or item found in the back of a Lineman truck, Vince could demonstrate, he was a natural salesman. Vince liked to start his sales meetings with clients at 8am. He arrived at every meeting with a large thermos of coffee and a big box of donuts. Vince was well acquainted with the best donut shops on the east coast. His son, Christopher joined the business in 1995 and is now President.

Vince truly lived life to the fullest and appreciated its simple pleasures. He had an infamous sweet tooth and showed his love the way he knew best, through baking. He never showed up to any birthday or holiday without some kind of sweet treat, whether it was his classic raisin bran muffins, biscotti, or famous Texas chocolate sheet cake. Vince always seemed to find an Italian Bakery in his travels, he would walk in the door with one large crusty Italian loaf, of course we all knew he eaten the second loaf on the car ride home, the crumbs on the front of his shirt always gave him away. Vince also had an uncanny gift for storytelling, recounting even the smallest details with such passion and enthusiasm that you couldn't help but listen, no matter how many times you had heard the story before. Perhaps his greatest gift was his unflappable belief in his children and grandchildren and what they could accomplish - Vince was their biggest cheerleader in life. His unforgettable stories, baking, and love for his family will remain cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Indian Trail Club, Lake House, 830 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417 on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 12 noon.
