William "Bill" MacDonald

William (Bill) MacDonald beloved father and grandfather passed away on March 25, 2004, at the age of 78. He was born in Paterson on March 17, 1926. Bill will be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his family.

Bill was a U.S. Veteran of Foreign Wars, having enlisted in the Navy Coast Guard in 1941. Following his time in the Military, he returned to Paterson continuing his civil service as a Passaic County Sheriff's Officer. In 1958 he met his future wife Doris, and they were married on Valentine's Day, 1959. A few years later they chose Bloomingdale, NJ to raise a family.

Bill was skilled at the art of fixing things using clever solutions. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating and fishing. Bill selflessly donated his remains to The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey to support medical education.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Doris, adored son, Don and his wife Kathy, his cherished grandsons, Christian and Ryan. Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Ellen (Gilkes), his brother Fred McDonald, and his sisters Edith McDonald and Ruth Ryder.
